Day 1 – Edmonton to North Battleford

Day 2 – Optional day trip

Today you have time to enjoy the Casino, relax and sleep in, or join us for one of our optional day tours.

MAY 30 -An optional tour for today takes you to the North Battleford Western Development Museum just on the outskirts of the city. Step back in time and experience the story of Saskatchewan farm and rural life. You don’t just visit this museum, you live it!
With both indoor and outdoor displays, and special exhibits, this Museum is a great way to spend the morning. The bus departs the hotel at 10:00 am and returns at 1:00 pm. Cost for the Museum is an additional $10.00 per person.
Today is a fun and interesting event happening at the Western Development Museum, hosted by the Battlefords Immigration Resource Centre. This TASTE OF CULTURE event is free to attend and is the annual multicultural event to celebrate diversity in the community, featuring foods, drinks, marketplace items and entertainments from around the world! This event starts at 11:00 am.

An optional tour for today takes you to the Fort Battleford Historic Site just on the outskirts of the city. Rent a pair of headsets at the visitors’ centre and plug in for a self-guided adventure discovering 15 fact-filled spots around the fort. Hear the music of the period and captivating stories of the people whose lives –and deaths– revolved around Battleford. Walk in their footsteps and feel history come alive as your imagination is fired by their tales.

Explore the authentically refurbished buildings of the site from the spartan guardhouse and prison to the more refined commanding officer’s house. See cannons and rifles on display, stop by the quartermaster’s store. From the creation of the fort as the capital of the North West Territories and the spread of Canadian law in the West, to the mass graves beyond its palisades, understand more of the tough life and often rough justice, that helped lay the foundations of a new country.
Today is a fun and interesting event happening here at the Fort Battleford Historic Site. ne of Canada’s national icons, the Musical Ride, is set to canter into Fort Battleford to show off their skill. Hosted by the Friends of Fort Battleford, see one of our national treasures perform their intricately choreographed routines. Come early to explore the fort and catch the pre-show performance. Where once this historic fort rang to the sound of the blacksmith’s anvil and cannon and rifle’s roar, now hear the sound of galloping hooves and the cheers of the crowd, clap your hands to the music and enjoy the show.

Day 3 – Return Home

You have a bit of time this morning for breakfast and to enjoy the casino before we start our journey home.
