Tour Details by Day

Day 1 – St. Albert to Fairmont Hot Springs

Meals Included: None

Welcome aboard your coach as your tour begins in St. Albert. Travel south along Hwy. 2 with pick-ups in Red Deer and Calgary. We will stop for lunch on your own in Aldersyde then transverse our way through the Crowsnest Pass. Enjoy the scenic sites as we make our way to our destination for the next 2 evenings at Fairmont Hot Springs.

Day 2 – Fort Steele

Meals Included: Lunch

Today will find us touring the Fort Steele Heritage Town learning about the boom of this area during the gold rush. Over 60 heritage buildings have been restored since 1961. Once you have enjoyed your included lunch, we will do a drive through Kimberley, home to the world’s largest lead-zinc mine from 1917 – 2001, Sullivan Mine.

Afternoon and evening is free to soak in the hot pools.

Day 3 – Fairmont to Nelson

Meals Included: Lunch

Continuing our tour today, we will head to Creston, British Columbia to view the Glass House in nearby Boswell, built with approximately 500,000 empty bottles. Then it is north to Kootenay Bay where we will take the ferry across the lake to Balfour. We will enjoy the Ainsworth Hot Springs before ending our day in Nelson, BC at our hotel for the next 2 evenings.

Day 4 – Nelson Area

Meals Included: None

Heading north along the Kootenay Lakeshore today, we will stop in Kaslo for a tour of the S.S. Moyie, the oldest intact passenger sternwheeler in the world. After lunch on your own in Kaslo, our tour will take us over to Sandon, one of the Slocan Valley ghost towns. We will then make our way to New Denver where we will tour the Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre, where 22,000 Japanese-Canadians were relocated during WWII. We will then finish our day making our way back to Nelson along the shores of Slocan Lake.

Day 5 – Nelson to Three Valley Gap

Meals Included: Supper

Saying goodbye to the Nelson area, we will make our way to Nakusp and then stop at the Halcyon Hot Springs on the edge of Arrow Lake where you can view the soaring Monashee Mountains where you soak in the healing waters. We will then board the ferry and cross the lake to Shelter Bay and make our way to Revelstoke then onto Three Valley Gap, our destination for the evening where you will enjoy a tour of the Ghost Town and a BBQ supper.

Day 6 – Three Valley Gap to Radium

Meals Included: Breakfast

A light guided, walking tour of Historic Downtown Revelstoke will start our day. We will then make our way towards Radium through the Rogers Pass stopping in Golden for lunch on your own. Continuing on towards Radium stopping for a soak in the Radium Hot Springs and then onto our hotel for the evening.

Day 7 – Radium to Home Cities

Meals Included: None

Departing Radium today making our way back towards our home cities, we will make a stop at Johnson Canyon where you can take an easy 20-minute stroll to view the lower falls. We will then stop in Canmore for lunch on your own then continue to your home cities with new friends and magnificent memories of your Kootenay Hot Springs tour.
